A Hytale Username (often called a gamertag or profile name) is the unique identifier for your character and account in the highly anticipated game, Hytale. Since Hytale is expected to have hundreds of thousands of players, reserving your desired name before the official launch is crucial to ensure you get the perfect, unique name you want. This pre-launch reservation system is your chance to secure your identity in the game!

This guide walks you through the exact process to successfully pre-register and claim your name.

How to Successfully Reserve a Hytale Username

Reserving your username is simple but requires a specific Token for verification. Follow these three essential steps:

Step 1: Create or Access Your Official Hytale Account

The foundation of the reservation process is having an active Hytale account.

• Navigate to the Hytale Account Portal: Go to https://accounts.hytale.com/login
• Sign Up/Log In: You can register or log in quickly using one of the following ways:
  • Discord
  • Epic Games
  • Google
  • Microsoft
  • Twitch
  • E-Mail & Password

Once logged in, you will be directed to your Account Settings page. Keep this tab open!

Step 2: Obtain a Valid Hytale Username Reservation Token

You cannot reserve a name without a Username Reservation Token. These tokens are a limited resource and are distributed through specific official channels.

Hypixel/Hytale Token

Hypixel/Hytale will send out emails containing tokens to players who are subscribed to the newsletter. Make sure you're subscribed to get these!

Riot Games Token

Riot Games are sending out emails containing tokens to players who registered for the beta of Hytale. You're not able to sign-up for this beta anymore so if you did, you're lucky!

Step 3: Secure Your Pre-Registered Username

Once you have your unique token, the final steps are quick:

1. On your Hytale Account Settings page, click the "Usernames" tab on the left navigation bar.
2. Click the prominent blue "RESERVE USERNAME" button. A pop-up window will appear.
3. Enter Your Desired Username: Type the name you wish to claim.
4. Enter Your Token: Copy and paste the Token you received in Step 2.
5. Click "RESERVE USERNAME" to finalize the process.

If the token is valid and the username is available, your chosen name is now successfully reserved!

How do I use this reserved username?

Your username is now reserved, but it isn't "active" in the game yet.

The final step for permanent ownership occurs after you pre-order or purchase Hytale. Once the game is available for pre-order, you will be given the option to officially assign your reserved name to your game profile.

Once assigned, that unique name is yours forever!
