Multiplayer or Singleplayer?
From the blog post we can see that the Singleplayer experience will be more demanding then the Multiplayer experience. This is because the singleplayer experience runs a local server to handle all game logic. So needing to "host" your own server on singleplayer is more demanding then playing on a multiplayer server.
Minimum Requirements
This setup is aimed at providing a playable experience at a lower framerate and settings. Hytale tries to aim for 1080p at 30 fps with these specifications.

Understanding Performance
Hytale is a sandbox voxel game, which means it places significant demands on your CPU and System RAM, often more so than traditional games.
- Singleplayer vs. Multiplayer: Singleplayer is the most demanding way to play because your PC runs both the game client (rendering) and the server (world simulation, NPCs, world generation) simultaneously. Playing on a remote multiplayer server shifts the server load off your machine, which typically results in better performance on the same hardware.
- CPU and RAM are Critical: Once your GPU meets the minimum spec, the team recommends prioritizing a solid multi-core CPU and sufficient RAM over an even faster graphics card.
- View Distance: This is the most impactful performance option in the game. It controls the radius of the world that is visible, loaded, and simulated around the player. Doubling the view distance (e.g., from 192 blocks to 384 blocks) quadruples the amount of world data being processed, significantly increasing CPU and RAM usage.
- Storage: While the installation size is 8 GB, the world files can grow extensively the more you explore. The developers strongly recommend a SATA or NVMe SSD to handle the constant loading and saving of world data.
